This is the most common question we are asked in our stores. While there is no exact answer to this, we need to understand that no plant can thrive in dark spaces, even though the phrase indoor plant or house plants sound like they can be placed anywhere, it’s just a myth. All ‘indoor’ plants need a bright spot to actually grow and produce new leaves & thrive! And the bright spot can be artificial lighting or natural indirect sunlight. Spaces next to windows / doors, top shaded but side open balconies / porticos, sun roof area, utility spaces, bathroom windowsill are some of the places we can think of placing plants indoors and not in dark corners.
This Peace lily / Spathiplyllum in photo is a 3 year old plant and sits on an East facing window of our living and receives about 2-3 hours of direct sun. It’s grown in Happy Garden Ready Garden Mix and watered once every 10 days.
